The Digital Image Library (DIL) is an image database that houses the Visual Media Collection digitization project and the Saskia Art Images collection. The DIL allows faculty to create, present, and share image presentations with the ability to add personal images.

Using the Digital Image Library

DIL image collections are available for use by Northwestern University faculty and students, for teaching and research purposes.

If you would like to schedule a training appointment, need assistance using the DIL, or to obtain faculty privileges please contact Nicole Finzer.

DIL Tutorials and tips are also available on this site.

Adding to the Collection

Our production staff scans, catalogs, and uploades art images scanned from various sources to add to DIL. If you have art images you would like to request to be added to the collection please contact Nicole Finzer and see our image digitization services page.

*The DIL is Northwestern's installation of MDID, supported by the MMLC and NUL.
